Meet the Doctors
Dr. Melissa Blanchard (Agnew)
Dr. Mel grew up in Onamia, Minnesota and was active in high school and college, participating in track and cross country. She majored in exercise science at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. While there, she was a three-time NCAA Division II National Champion and a 12-time All-American.
Seeking a health care profession that took a holistic approach, Dr. Mel discovered that chiropractic was a perfect fit. She attended Northwestern Health Sciences University where she learned about treating the cause of an injury or condition rather than masking symptoms as so many medications do.
During her internship, she saw firsthand the effects chiropractic care had on her patients and became excited to open her own practice. At Imperial Family Chiropractic, Dr. Mel often sees active individuals and athletes. She is certified in Graston and Rock Tape®.
When she’s not at the office, Dr. Mel stays busy with the Twin Cities Track Club. She runs on the weekends and enjoys checking out area restaurants and breweries.

Dr. Aaron Brening
Dr. Aaron studied kinesiology at the University of Minnesota and ultimately chiropractic school at Northwestern Health Sciences University, where he graduated in 2020.
His first experience with chiropractic came in undergrad while dealing with recurring post‑surgical pain. Seeing how much chiropractic care and rehabilitation helped him inspired his career change and now shapes his treatment style—focusing not only on restoring joint function but also on teaching patients how to stabilize and strengthen their bodies for long‑term health.
Outside the clinic, you’ll find Dr. Brening lifting weights, taking long walks, enjoying high‑fantasy novels and anime, or gaming on the custom PC he built himself.

Tammy Belton, Massage Therapist
With an Associate’s Degree in Swedish Relaxation and Clinical Therapeutic Massage, I bring a holistic and intuitive approach to bodywork. I’m certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Prenatal Massage, Hand and Foot Reflexology, Reiki, Cancer Massage, and Client-Participation Stretching for Athletes. My work is rooted in both experience and empathy.
After living with chronic migraines for 15 years and finding limited relief through western medicine, I turned to massage as a way to heal. While it wasn’t always a cure, it offered something deeply needed—nurturing, compassionate touch. That experience guides my practice to this day.
Each session is customized based on your physical and emotional needs. Whether you’re managing pain, stress, or simply need a reset, I aim to create a safe, supportive space to help you reconnect with your body and feel your best.
